Six months ago we established an entirely new management team at NComputing and we have been investing heavily in our flagship vSpace product line.

Today, we are thrilled to be announcing the launch of two new and exciting NComputing products that have been developed under the direction of our new leadership:

• vSpace Server 8.3
• L350 Thin Client

vSpace Server 8.3 includes considerable upgrades, including:

• Support for Windows Server 2012 R2,
• Updated management software for direct management of NComputing thin-client access devices,
• Improved multimedia playback performance, and
• Increased stability.

As a thank you to our loyal customers, we are making vSpace Server 8.3 available as a free upgrade to all registered vSpace Server customers. Registered users can log-in to the software download section of the NComputing website to download vSpace Server 8.3.

The new L350 for vSpace includes features such as a DVI digital video interface, enhanced audio/video playback, and the highest performance specifications in our L-series product line -- making it our premium thin client model for vSpace.

Customer adoption of the vSpace platform has grown at a phenomenal pace in 2015 and these new products are just the beginning of new and exciting products for the vSpace platform. With new investments and an increased R&D pace you can expect to see quarterly new product releases, regular product updates and frequent maintenance releases for many years to come.

With these new product launches the NComputing team is building a solid foundation for our next generation of vSpace. We encourage all our customers to take advantage of the free upgrade to vSpace Server 8.3 and to stay tuned for our upcoming product announcements.

We are proud to announce that NComputing has received a green technology certificate for our L300 thin client by the Cleaner Production Center in Nicaragua.

As a result, businesses purchasing NComputing L300 devices in Nicaragua now have access to a green credit line through BANPRO (Bank of Production), giving them lower interest rates and longer payment terms than those available for the purchase of traditional equipment (PCs).

The Cleaner Product Center found that the L300 saves between 76% and 91% of the energy a typical PC would require. Read the report (spanish).

We are very pleased to make our first two new product announcements for 2016 with new releases of the N-series firmware and corresponding vSpace Management Center (VMC).

These are our first releases for 2016 and throughout the year we plan to continue to enhance, innovate and improve our support for the N-series product line with new features and product enhancements.

This being January, we are very excited to be starting the year by announcing the immediate availability of both the N-series firmware 2.4.2 and VMC 3.7.17.

The new N-series 2.4.2 firmware release incorporates an update to include Citrix Receiver 13.2 together with security enhancements and many quality improvements.

VMC 3.7.17 incorporates enhancements to aid administrator’s view, edit and create device configurations and profiles, an update to the latest Tomcat server release and many quality improvements.

N-series device compatibility:

N-series firmware 2.4.2 is compatible with the following N-Series devices:

• N400
• N500
• N500w

vSpace Management Center compatibility:

N-series 2.4.2 firmware is compatible with VMC 3.7.17

Customers using vSpace Management Center (VMC) to manage their N-series devices must upgrade their VMC version to VMC 3.7.17 in order to manage the new features incorporated in the N-series 2.4.2 firmware. It is highly recommended that all VMC servers within the environment be update to VMC 3.7.17 prior to updating and N-series device firmware to version 2.4.2:

Citrix compatibility:

N-series firmware 2.4.2 supports the following Citrix environments:

• XenDesktop 5.6
• XenDesktop 7.1, 7.5 and 7.6 (Desktop and Server OS VDA)
• XenApp versions 6.5
• XenApp 7.5 and 7.6

Computers continue to play an increasingly critical role in the classroom, and software-driven learning systems are quickly becoming an integral part of the educational process. 

Istation is a fully animated multimedia application, offering an interactive learning experience for students and powerful resources for teachers. This type of product typically isn’t supported by thin-client environments, however, NComputing vSpace supports Istation with some setup modifications.

There are a few different ways to configure the system for Istation functionality in NComputing desktop sessions. The simplest setup involves the use of a script which automates the creation of separate Istation folders and executables for each NComputing user session. This automated process avoids the need for more complicated methods such as the use of virtual IP addresses.

Today, we are very excited to share with you that we have shipped over 1 million L300 units to date. We originally launched the L300 product line in 2010 and since then it has provided a low cost, powerful solution for desktop virtualization to users like you. The L-series product line was first launched in 2004 with the L100. Additional models such as L110, L120, L130, L200 and L230 soon followed. However, the L300 has been our most unique and successful model.  

The L300 model was a result of a discussion internally around how we can enable IT managers to utilize the unused computing resources of a powerful PC, and make it available to up to 100 users at the same time.
